About
NetoZaplata is a net-pay calculator for Bulgaria, for anyone working here or weighing up a move. Every figure traces to a named primary source, cited where it appears.

What NetoZaplata is
NetoZaplata is a net-pay calculator for Bulgaria — for anyone working here and for anyone weighing up a move. The goal is one clear, honest figure: how much of a gross salary is actually left in hand after social and health contributions and the flat income tax. You enter the monthly gross and the number of children, and the tool shows the take-home net, the itemised contributions, the 10% tax and the total cost to the employer.
How Bulgaria’s payslip is built
The calculation follows what actually happens on a Bulgarian payslip. The employee’s social and health contributions (13,78% of the insurable income) come off the gross first. What remains is the tax base, and the flat 10% income tax applies to it — Bulgaria has no tax-free allowance. On top of the gross the employer pays a further 18,92% in contributions, which is a cost of employment, not a deduction from your pay. Contributions are charged only up to the maximum insurable income of 2 111,64 €, which is why higher salaries keep a larger share as net.
Our promise: honest numbers
One rule sits above the rest: no number here is invented. Every rate and amount is meant to trace to an official source, and anything that could not be confirmed against a primary source is hedged or left out rather than stated as fact. That discipline is visible in the content itself. The employee and employer contribution totals, the 10% tax, the 620,20 € minimum wage and the 2 111,64 € insurable-income ceiling are treated as confirmed; the per-fund split across the individual funds is corroborated from tax-advisory sources rather than read out of the primary registers directly. Where a proposal has not yet become law — such as a higher insurable-income ceiling floated in a draft 2026 budget — it is deliberately not shown.
Sources
The methodology draws on the primary Bulgarian authorities and legislation:
- the Personal Income Tax Act (ЗДДФЛ) — the flat 10% rate and the tax base;
- the Social Insurance Code (КСО) and the Health Insurance Act (ЗЗО) — the contribution funds and the employee/employer split;
- the National Revenue Agency (НАП) and the National Social Security Institute (НОИ) — administration of tax and social insurance;
- the State Gazette (Държавен вестник, ДВ) — the promulgated rates, the transitional ceiling and the minimum-wage decree;
- the National Statistical Institute (НСИ) — context figures such as the average gross wage (1 407,00 € a month), which is shown for orientation only and never enters the calculation.
What the figures are, and what they are not
The figures shown are taken from named primary sources. If a rule changed recently it may not be reflected here yet, and none of them has been through our final sign-off — so they must not be used for real decisions, and for an official amount the cited source or the National Revenue Agency is the binding one. No model ever declares a rate correct on its own. The underlying figures were gathered юли 2026, and each value carries its source and the date it was read there.
